On the shopping telly forum, BurlyBear posed the question:
…I still take issue with the concept, applying pink goo containing collagen from a plant is going to improve my skin, given that I am not a plant. If anyone can explain this to me exactly how this is supposed to work i would be grateful
The answer is the ‘pink goo’ in question is a water based gel containing pseudo-collagen from a plant that when applied to the skin has an occlusive effect, meaning it retains water. This plumps the skin cells mimicking the effect that natural collagen has on the skin. This is a non-invasive way of producing a similar plumping result on the surface of the skin without having to resort to injections of animal collagen to replace the natural loss of collagen fibres that occurs with ageing.
The ‘pink’-ness has no relevance in determining the effect. It just makes it more appealing as a product. If anyone has any other questions please do not hesitate to leave me a comment. Always happy to help.
