Wimbledon is a British institution, and with English hopes dashed in the World Cup, the excitement for this two week tennis bonanza is at its peak.  As we all know we can never be too sure on the weather here, but it is so important to wear SPF when in daylight (note my mentioning daylight not just sunlight – if it is light, the sun is there even if it’s hidden by clouds and rain!)  The tennis pros will be looking for something water resistant so it doesn’t get in their eyes. We recommend Clinique’s Super City Block SPF 40.

Along with SPF for the face, players and watchers alike will need to ensure any exposed skin is protected from the sun’s rays.  This again will need to be water resistant, which most creams and sprays are these days.  We love Clarins newest SPF product, Sun Care Radiant Oil Spray SPF 30. It is a dry oil which is easily absorbed and can also be spritzed through your hair – a place many forget to protect!

It is so important to stay hydrated during the warmer months, and especially when drinking alcohol!  Wimbledon is the perfect excuse to pop open the Pimm’s so ensure you keep your water intake high too, add some fruit to liven it up – mint and lime are a perfect combination.  But an easy way to keep your skin refreshed and hydrated whilst on the go, is our beautiful Floral Hydrating Spritzer.  Pop in your bag and use when you are feeling a little hot under the collar or when Andy Murray makes us sweat!

The easiest way to stay sun damage free, without staying inside that is, is to wear a wide brimmed hat.  Fashionistas will be swarming Wimbledon so you can fit right in!  We have fallen head over heels with this gorgeous sun hat from Whistles.

Don’t forget to eat too many strawberries, drink too much Pimm’s and cheer your favourite player on! Here at LYS we are supporting Murray – who will you be supporting?
