Anyone that has heard me talk on skincare will know how passionate I am about caring and treating the skin on the body as well as we do the skin on the face.

There are partricular areas that are real give aways of your age if they are not well cared for. The neck, decollette and your hands are constantly on show and no matter how good your face looks they will give away your age if you have not taken care of them.

Now firmly in Autumn and with Winter  now fast approaching I want you to focus on caring for your hands in particular. Now is the time that  your hands will become very dry, possibly chapped and could very easily end up with sore knuckles and cracking of the skin at the sides of the nails. Cracking, or even worse split skin is very, very painful and takes a long time to heal.

There are two very simple steps to keep your skin smooth and protected during the winter months.

One: Only ever wash your hands in a wash that does not contain Sodium Laureth Sulphate – SLS. This is the most common ingredient in face, hand and body wash and it is very, very drying to your skin. Products with the alternative, gentle ingredients can be more expensive, but trust me you will use a lot less  because the quality of the washing action is far superior!

Two: Hydrate your skin at every opportunity. By this I do not mean using oily hand creams that will make the skin feel smooth and flexible on the surface. I want you to truly hydrate your skin by using a hand gel that contains active ingredients that will care for and treat the skin on your hands. Gels will  not leave your skin greasy and tacky (which can leave marks on your clothing), and they have the added bonus of not making your jewellry all clogged with sticky creams.

Love Your Skin – London has the perfect duo  – Collagen Bath & Shower Wash and Collagen Body Moisturising Gel. Both contain added Evening Primrose Oil which is rich in Omega 6 fatty acids to nourish the skin, and Aloe Vera to cool and soothe the skin.

Available in 200 ml and 500ml there is no excuse for not having these two superb skin products always at hand!

Personally I am never without the 200 ml Collagen gel – always in my car/handbag for regular, quick and easily absorbed applications during the day and then the  500 ml products in the bathroom.
